Course Description

Beginner level Italian with a functional and situational approach. Emphasis on listening, speaking, and building basic vocabulary and idioms in practical everyday situations. Focus on social norms and habits to promote cross-cultural awareness. Conducted in Italian. Does not satisfy any part of the Foreign Language/Culture requirement. Students who have completed prior coursework in Italian may not enroll.

Basic Enrollment Requirements: Unofficial Transcript – High School Diploma or current high school transcript (for high school students only in applicable classes), Bachelor’s Degree, or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.

This section is also open to high school students who are 11th or 12th grade students. High School students who enroll will be prompted to submit an additional application after enrollment including: a high school transcript, letter of recommendation, parental permission, and other required consent forms.

This is an in-person course that follows the published schedule of course meetings and requires attendance at all sessions.
