Course Description

Current and emerging applications of three-dimensional (3D) printing in the field of biomedical engineering. Assessment of advantages, challenges, and limitations of 3D printing as a manufacturing process. Exploration of emerging technologies and the future potential of 3D printing for medicine. Extraction of relevant information from patient data, generation of a printable model, and successful printing of an anatomical structure or medical device. Recommendations: BIO 13 or BME 33

Basic Enrollment Requirements: 

Academic Year (Fall/Spring): Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.

Summer: None.
