Course Description

In our current times, many of us are making art in a home environment. As a printmaker, this can seem challenging. Rubbings, stencils, monotype, and relief, along with collage and chine collé are all methods that can easily be done without a press and using a variety of accessible materials. We will explore students’ different work spaces, and provide helpful hints (mis en place – just like cooking! – registration, supplies, etc.) throughout the semester to make creating your work a better experience. This course requires no previous printmaking experience and will include technical demonstrations, group critiques, and on-going individual consultation.

Students will be sent a supply list before the start of classes.

Notes

Any materials necessary for the first class meeting will be communicated to enrolled students by the instructor in advance. Otherwise, materials and supplies will be covered in the first class meeting.
