Course Description

Continuation of PHY 0011. Principles of electricity and magnetism, waves, sound, and light. Lectures, recitations, laboratories. Calculus based. PHY 0002 and PHY 0012 cannot both be taken for credit. Recommended: PHY 0001 Introduction to Physics I and MATH 0034 Calculus II (or equivalent).

This class includes a mandatory recitation Tuesday/Thursday 1:30 PM- 2:20 PM and a mandatory lab at various times. You are required to attend this lab and recitation, although you will not see them in your enrollment history or course schedule. You will be asked to choose a lab time during the registration process. 

Basic Enrollment Requirements: 

Academic Year (Fall/Spring): Unofficial Transcript – High School Diploma or current high school transcript (for high school students only in applicable classes), Bachelor’s Degree, or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.

Summer: None
